Supported by the American Society of Addiction Medicine, SAMHSA, and the CDC, MAT combines FDA-approved medications with counseling and behavioral therapies to provide a "whole-patient" approach to recovery.

At Synergy MD Clinic, our MAT program includes:

• Buprenorphine / Suboxone — The most widely used medication for opioid use disorder. Reduces cravings, prevents withdrawal, and allows patients to live normal, functional lives. Now available via telehealth in Texas.
• Sublocade (Extended-Release Buprenorphine) — Monthly injectable buprenorphine for patients who prefer not to take daily medications. Provides steady blood levels and eliminates daily dosing adherence challenges.
• Naltrexone / Vivitrol — Monthly injection that completely blocks opioid receptors. Excellent option for highly motivated patients who have already completed detox.
• Methadone — For selected cases meeting specific clinical criteria. Provides potent, long-acting opioid agonist therapy for severe opioid dependency.
• Naltrexone for Alcohol — Reduces alcohol cravings and the rewarding effects of drinking, supporting sustained sobriety.
• Acamprosate — Helps normalize brain chemistry disrupted by chronic alcohol use, reducing post-acute withdrawal symptoms.

Not every patient requires inpatient hospitalization for medically supervised detox. At Synergy MD Clinic, we offer comprehensive outpatient detox programs that are safe, evidence-based, and do not require overnight hospitalization — allowing you to maintain your daily life commitments while achieving safe withdrawal.

• Alcohol Detox — Using medications like benzodiazepines, gabapentin, or phenobarbital to safely manage alcohol withdrawal syndrome, including the prevention of life-threatening seizures and delirium tremens (DTs).
• Opioid Detox — Buprenorphine-assisted withdrawal management that dramatically reduces the suffering of opioid withdrawal while initiating MAT.
